WHAT IF YOUR CLAIM IS CONTESTED?

If the insurer decides to deny the initial claim for benefits, it must notify you by certified mail of the denial, telling you its reasons, and must tell you of your right to appeal the denial by filing a claim with this department. We will then file a claim on your behalf. It is for this reason that even if you are collecting Workers' Compensation Benefits, you should still contact this office so we can be ready when they try and cancel your benefits because they more than likely will try.
